Southpoint Business Park Turns 10
2007 marks the 10 year anniversary of the public-private partnership between The Hollingsworth Companies and Prince George County. Southpoint Business Park (SBP), in 1997, began as a vision to create a premier industrial park along I-295. Today SBP is home to 11 thriving industries. With an estimated 270 acres remaining, The Hollingsworth Companies offers industries custom developed facilities, featuring aggressive construction schedules and a variety of financing options, including lease, lease/purchase and purchase. PG looks forward to our partnership's continued success!
New Name for Industrial Park
Crosspointe Centre, located at the crossroads of US460 and I-295, is the new name for the County's 1200-acre industrial property adjacent to Southpoint Business Park (SBP). Complete with a Master Plan addressing future infrastructure, Crosspointe Centre is on the fast track for development. In addition to providing larger lot sizes for Manufacturing and Distribution industries, The Offices at Crosspointe Centre, featuring an estimated 200-acre upscale office complex, will provide "front door" exposure for the first class service and technology businesses.
Fort Lee Expanding
The Fort Lee Army base is expected to gain more than 7,700 personnel by 2011 as part of the Defense Base Closure and Realignment Commission (BRAC) recommendations that became federal law in 2005. Unofficial calculations estimate that Fort Lee currently pumps $1 billion into the economy...look for that figure to grow as the base grows.
