ODTL Comes to Crosspointe Centre
In January, Old Dominion Truck Leasing, Inc., headquartered in Chesterfield County, expanded its operation by purchasing 16 acres in Crossspointe Centre. ODTL offers a full range of services, including full service leasing, contract maintenance, commercial maintenance and rentals. Prince George County officially welcomes ODTL to our business community at their grand opening on Thursday, October 11.
Board Approves Strategic Economic Development Plan
Basile Baumann Prost & Associates, Inc. presented the final Strategic Economic Development Plan, which was adopted by the Board of Supervisors in July. The Plan focuses on three basic goals: 1) Diversify tax base by generating 30% of tax revenue from non-residential uses and by attracting higher quality development; 2) Obtain the greatest possible return on investment for all economic development actions; and 3) Generate a self-sustaining environment of investment and re-investment.

PG Pursues Broadband
The Virginia Department of Housing & Community Development awarded Prince George a $25,000 grant for the Virginia Rural Broadband Planning Initiative. The County has contracted with CCG Consulting LLC for the following services:
- Conduct a needs assessment (business & residential)
- Create broadband education development strategies & end-user application identification
- Propose last mile connectivity solutions
- Present preliminary design & cost estimates
- Develop options for organization & network operation
- Present funding strategies for future implementation projects
In addition, Cindy Cave, Prince George County’s Director of Economic Development, has been appointed to the Governor’s Broadband Roundtable (BBR), headed by Secretary of Technology Aneesh Chopra and former Governor of Virginia, Mark Warner. The BBR is charged with delivering a “blueprint” to assist communities with broadband planning and deployment.
