Strategic Economic Development Plan Underway
Prince George contracted with Basile Baumann Prost & Associates, Inc. in January for services related to the creation of the County’s first Strategic Economic Development Plan. The Plan, due to be complete in June, will present strategies to develop target industries and market Prince George County, and for each strategy will outline specific steps for implementation. The Plan will answer the “how do we get there?” question and will be based on long- and short-term goals.
Virginia Rural Broadband Planning Initiative (VRBPI) Connects PG
The Virginia Department of Housing & Community Development (DHCD) created the VRBPI, a comprehensive telecommunications planning effort, to allow communities to identify and develop all elements necessary to create a successful community broadband network. Prince George successfully submitted an application for a $25,000 planning grant. Currently the County has submitted an RFP to determine the total planning budget.
